A History of Designing with Intention

For Troy Tarantino, Émigré’s Head of Apparel Design, clothing is about more than aesthetics. His approach centres on problem-solving, translating personal style into functional and adaptable garments that suit the demands of modern life.

Designing with intention begins by asking key questions. How do you want to present yourself? What does your environment require? Which materials best support movement, comfort and purpose?

From Concept to Collection

Troy Tarantino’s introduction to Ralph marked the beginning of his role leading the apparel assortment at Émigré. What started as a focused capsule has since evolved into an adaptable collection of pieces, designed to be worn together or individually, always with movement and versatility in mind. Each item must deliver comfort, confidence and functionality across a range of environments. Our collective aim is clear: to create clothing that reflects identity, supports performance and feels as good as it looks.
